The wedding of Phil and Vix – The West Tower

I knew from my first meeting with Phil and Vicky that I was going to absolutely LOVE shooting their wedding, they are both such lovely, friendly, people that I knew working with them would be a pleasure. We had a fab and fun engagement shoot with the daffodils in Sefton park, and despite declaring that they were both camera shy and rubbish in front of a camera, they were actually really natural and relaxed and very easy to photograph.

Their wedding day began with the preparations at their house with Vicky, her bridesmaids and parents. One of the highlights for me was seeing Vicky’s father in tears when he saw her in her dress for the first time, so emotional!

The emotion continued through a lovely, relaxed ceremony at Our lady of the annunciation church in Woolton…, then the celebrations continued at one of my favourite venues, the West Tower in Aughton. There was so much fun, love and laughter throughout the day, and Phil and Vicky were open to so many creative photography ideas, that it was a dream wedding for me to shoot.

I stayed late in the evening, waiting for it to get dark, so we could try out some light painting shots. We played around with sparklers and also a new light stick that I had crafted with a string of fairy lights! After a couple of attempts I successfully managed to write their initials in lights … also noticing that it spelled out V I P .. which they certainly were! Huge congratulations guys and thanks for inviting me to photograph your wedding!
