The wedding of Matt and Sami – A vintage rustic wedding – CHET
I really clicked with Sami and Matt from our first meeting, we had so much in common, not least our love of festivals and cats! I was really excited hearing all of Sami and Matt’s creative ideas for the day….it was exactly the type of wedding that I just love to photograph. They told me they wanted their wedding photographs to be quirky and artistic, which suited me perfectly!
The day began with Sami’s preparations at the stunning Titanic hotel, where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids, mother and little flower girl. It was a lovely, relaxed morning and I particularly enjoyed the big unveiling of her stunning wedding dress to her bridesmaids. The look on their faces when they saw her for the first time was priceless!
The ceremony, which took place at the Victoria museum and gallery, was so emotional even I had tears in my eyes! They had a big gospel choir and the whole congregation sang along to songs such as ‘It must be love’ by Madness. Apart from the tears of emotion there was such a feelgood vibe to the ceremony.
After a few photos around the grounds of the museum, Sami and Matt drove off in their vintage VW campervan to their rustic barn reception at the CHET in Crosby. I absolutely loved all of their quirky, handmade decorations and the personalised home brewed beer was a great idea!
After a few emotional (the mother of the bride) and hilarious (the best men) speeches, it was time for the party to begin, and what better way to start a party than with the amazing ‘Ukebox’ playing in the courtyard. After their first dance to Coldplay’s ‘Fix you’, and a few shots of the crowd partying, we headed outside to have a play with some sparklers, and my light wand made from a string of fairy lights! I painted their initials with the light wand … M & S … because this was no ordinary wedding, it was an M&S wedding.
Huge congratulations guys and thanks for inviting me to photograph your brilliant wedding day! ♥
