Laura & Dave – A boho barn wedding at CHET

Wildflowers… a vintage campervan…..homemade gin … and the funkiest shoes I have ever seen!

Laura and Dave’s wedding at CHET in Little Crosby was such an amazing day to photograph, I loved all of the quirky, DIY touches. The whole day was so relaxed and full of love and laughter.

The day started out with a lovely chilled out morning at Laura’s house where she was getting ready with the girls. I totally fell in love with her fabulous shoes!! And the little flower girl and page boy were just cuteness overload. The ceremony took place in one of my favourite venues, a converted barn in Crosby. I love a good barn wedding!

After the ceremony everyone was treated to ice cream from ‘Dotty’ whilst they listened to tunes played by the ‘Mersey Belles’. We then headed out in ‘Lola’ the vintage campervan for some photos around Little Crosby. We headed to the beach even though there was a storm brewing and I loved the fact that Laura was still happy to run around on the beach in the wind and rain! In her own words ‘Oh I’m not a girly girl, I don’t care about my hair and make-up.’ A girl after my own heart!

Then it was back into the barn for afternoon tea. Laura and Dave had spent a lot of their time together travelling the world, so they had a travel theme with lots of DIY decorations. They also had a pork pie cake, as Dave is a proper northern lad who loves his pies! After the cakes had been eaten and the gin drunk, I managed to get the couple out into a little woodland area in the grounds of CHET where I finally got to create some artistic shots with my smoke pellets which I’ve had in my camera bag for ages. I love the results!

Then it was onto the evening party, where I left everyone dancing to funky tunes provided by the fabulous Splintered Ukes. Laura and Dave’s wedding was so laid back, fun and quirky … and a fantastic day to photograph. Look out for their feature on the Brides up North blog soon!

‘Wow Hayley, we just watched the slideshow – it is amazing!! You have captured the emotion of the day perfectly! We love them and can’t thank you enough! x’
