Alix & Kerry – A fun and relaxed wedding at Knipe hall – Penrith
From the first time I met Alix and Kerry I knew I was going to love photographing their wedding, even from the initial planning stages the wedding sounded like it was going to be such a fun, laid back affair – and it didn’t disappoint!
I arrived at Knipe hall (an early 17th century, grade II listed period farmhouse) on a lovely sunny morning and was stunned by the beauty of the venue and surrounding countryside. It was such an idyllic setting for a wedding. I spent the morning in the farmhouse with Alix and her lovely entourage, including pet dog Phoebe and the adorable little flower girls. It was such a relaxed, laid back morning with family and friends all popping in to say hello, then chilling around the grounds of the venue. I absolutely loved Alix’s custom made alternative wedding jumpsuit, it suited her style perfectly.
The ceremony took place in the beautiful, rustic barn attached to the farmhouse and was a very emotional affair. There were lots of tears, especially from Kerry who looked so gorgeous in her dress complete with little baby bump!
After the ceremony it was back out into the grounds for cocktails and canapes. After they had greeted by all of their guests (soooo many hugs, kisses and belly laughs!), I took Alix, Kerry, bump and pooch off for a few relaxed photos around the grounds. I really love those photos as they are very natural and just exude so much happiness.
Then it was onto the wedding breakfast in another rustic, barn style room. I loved all the decor, especially the ‘happy pill’ favours, which all had unique fortune cookie style messages in them. After some hilarious and heartwarming speeches we managed to get out for a few more photos around the beautiful surrounding country lanes.
Alix and Kerry’s wedding truly was a delight to photograph, there was so much love and happiness in the air all day. And now the bump is a beautiful baby boy, huge congratulations guys!
